I have loved British traditional music all my life, having absorbed it through my parents' record collection. Though I played in rock bands for the last 20 years and also write my own music, I have always played this music at home, and this album represents the fulfillment of a long-standing ambition to pay homage to the tradition in my own way. This is the people's music from a time when the music industry profit motive and the star machine weren't even concepts. It tells of the hopes and dreams of regular people, as well as many interesting stories rich in the mythology of the British Isles.
